I cracked!!!!

I went with combination lighting. I ordered a dbl T5 HO retro fit kit from reef supplies and am using 2 ATI Blue + bulbs. Starting slow with only 3hrs a day, and plan to ramp it up to 6-8hrs/day over the next 6 weeks or so.
After speaking to my bf @Kman
He reminded me that most of our 25+yrs of keeping a reef tank, that we always ran combo lighting. Back then it was MH and florescents
We both remembered that we stuck to led only for so long to prove that a successful reef can be maintained by leds alone. And I think we've done that.
So now back to our old ways and let's grow these corals

Ya lol
I need to pull the overflow off and soak it to kill off what's attached to it soon. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
I've just snapped a good 8" piece of it too.

Anything growing on a hob overflow can potentially cause an issue if not paid attention to.
As it grows, it will block the "teeth" and eventually affect flow

I learned the hard way. I had a blue coral grow so big on it my box cracked off after the banged it. The weight of the the the much. The water came up and over the top of the tank. Frying some of my hardware. Will never do that again

Mixed lighting usually gives you the best results because of the blended lighting. It fills In any gap of spectrum. You will get better growth and color.
