I thought I'd start a build thread on my system. Deposit has been put down on a 72Lx30Dx24H with Starphire on front and both ends and the Reef Savvy overflow. The system will be plumbed for bean animal. Lighting will be 3 AI Hydra 52HD with HMS hanging system and the Apex Fusion controller. Ecotech MP40's for wave makers and probably a Sunpole pump. The back of the aquarium will be flush with the wall and the viewing room built around it. I will be able to access the system from the back as well having a custom hood/canopy made. A shout out to Torx for housing my survivng fish. The whole basement is being renovated at the same time. Next step get steel to fab shop for stand to be made then off for sandblast and powdercoat. I have 7-8 weeks to get ready. Framing and insulating basement now. Update to follow

Sorry been too busy for pics but coming soon. Have a mess to clean before I can take. With that said steel is off to fabricator for the stand. Looks like aquarium will be ready week of December 18th. Will update with pics soon but excuse the mess.

Ok here is a pic where the aquarium will sit recessed 1/2" into the wall. Will build a custom canopy/hood with access mounted to ceiling. Plus I have access from the back which will be the mechanical room. All controls will be mounted on the right side rear.

That' what the cost to fab was. I work where we make steel tube so I get it cheap. I have might have some 1-1/2" square for sale.

Feeling giddy finally able to pull trigger on purchase. 3 Hydra 52HD and the HMS hanging system. Apex Fusion with flow kit, WXM module and leak detection probe. 2 Wp40qd. I also purchased a 72" Reef Brite LumI Lite blue strip with apex interface. Woo hoo !!!

Yes I also purchased a Sunpole VSB-12000 3170 GPH, head pressure 21 feet. Enough headroom for future plus I plan to plumb a main manifold with taps for reactors and such. Love DC pumps.

I bought the LumI Lite incase I want more blue. It'l be fun figuring things out. I think I'm on the right track for a kick ass setup.

Definitely looks like a kick ass setup, no doubt about that! Love the dimensions, I envision myself wanting something like this in the future, the extra 6" of width over the stand 24" of many tanks will be really nice I bet. Good luck with the build, I'll be following :)

My wiring duct just came in, this is for the control board I'll be setting up on the left side mechanical room. I can divide into sections and run cables through to each device. Comes in 2m length. I have no build pics as I have no build yet. Lol. Still doing renos and now need knee surgery so going slow

I took a chance on the Sunpole pump too; currently have the the Green version. So far very pleased with the performance level. Build quality is very good and pump is quiet as advertised.
