Well a year and a half later I had lost 2 of my 6 seahorses. Not sure why but that is in the past. I sold off my 60 gallon cube for a 40 and my wife is impressed. Still lots of tweaking to do but here it is.

40 gallon rimless
Coralbox Moon LED puck with gooseneck
Bubble-magnus C3.5 skimmer
Eheim return pump
MP10wQD connected to my Reeflink
ViaAqua CC-25B chiller

Cool lookin light

There is a new model out Moon LED Plus. The one I have is the first model. Here are the details. It actually grew softies and was comparable to other lights. I have pictures somewhere. I was offered a discount to review the Plus model, but was not in the market to upgrade at the time as this is not for coral growth, I just like the fixture and price.

The Coral Box Moon LED light has 6 dimming channels controlled via an app on your Apple or Android smartphone.
You can set a full sunrise and sunset schedule as well as lightening storms and cloud cover.
Channel
1 White 4 Cree XT-E 5watt 7500K Channel
2 Royal Blue 5 Cree XP-E 3watt 450nm Channel
3 Violet/UV 1 EpiLEDs 3watt 420nm 1 EpiLEDs 3watt 405nm Channel
4 Cool Blue 2 Cree XP-E 3watt 475nm Channel
5 Green 1 Cree XP-E 3watt 520nm Channel
6 Red 1 Cree XP-E 3watt 630nm
Each fixture measures 7" in diameter x 1 1/3" tall, and covers a 20" cube.
They consume about 50watts at full power, and 25watts at half power.
They include an on the tank mounting rail as well as the standard hanging cables. All fixtures include our full 2 year warranty.

Would fit my 25 gal cube. Where and how much was your best buy?

I purchased mine directly through fish-street.com with discount code 'thefragtank' for an additional 4% off. I do not recall what mine cost back then. Right now with the discount the Coral Box Moon LED Pro is $227.36 on fish-street, found my current one on amazon.ca going for $261.99.

I actually have the plus version and it has been treating me well. I wouldnt recommend it for sps, but its fine for lps. Pets and ponds has them for $250. Also i noticed that the AI prime HD is on sale for $249 and a lot of retailers. This only includes the body and you would have to purchase a mounting kit or gooseneck which will run you around $40.

Looking good so far. I will be interested to see what it looks like in a month or so when everything has settled in. Looks as if one of your seahorses still has his cirri, am I right? I am down to 5 seahorses and so far they are doing well.

You are right, one still does. They have grown a lot, but 2 are much smaller.

That is wonderful. I wish I hadn't sold all of the ones that had cirri. None of mine have any. Are you able to get a closer picture of him? The cirri are very interesting to see. Are they branching? My seahorses have grown a lot as well. My largest (and oldest) when he died was 8.5" long from head to tail and 2" from belly to back. He was huge!

So this is where my complete lack of any slight trace of seahorse knowledge shines......Catalina Gobys are a cold water fish.....what do you keep the horse tank at? Heck while we are at it then what about your salinity?

The new tank stays around 70-72° and I do not have a heater at all. The old tank needed a chiller to keep it below 74°. I have not hooked up the chiller to the new tank yet at all. I will be holding onto it through the summer months in case things change. Salinity stays fairly low around 1.021.

This is the first time i am running a single drain. It is set up as a Stockman Stand pipe. It is extremly quiet. I run 2 sponges to stop anything that could clog it, so i am fairly certain that so long as i maintain it periodically, there should not be any issues. Here is a great informational piece in it.

I have seen that style but with an addition of bowl around it that makes it surface skim. It I remember properly it was a 1 1/2” -3” reducer with the stand pipe in the middle of it. Tank overflows into the “bowl” then exits the standpipe. There was about a 1/4” gap all the way around between the stand pipe cap and reducer. .......does my description make sense. Lol.
