Sand Depth

What depths of sand bed is everyone running?

in my dt its 2"ish deep and in my sump i have 1 section that is 7"-8" deep

Approx 2 inches... but the engineer goby has a habit of relocating it to various places

I was looking at possibly doing 3" so i could get a conch. But man substrate is not cheap....

I have 2- 2 1/2” and have conches and sandburring wrasses and they seem happy for 3 years now .
