Algae Id

I have an algae in my fuge that is bright green with millions of air bubbles on it. I am wondering if it is good or bad. More so the gas that it is giving off. Any suggestions.

cyanobacteria can be green and dinoflagelettes.

But a pic would make it easier to identify correctly.

Yup, could be a few things..

or worse,

that first pic looks like cyano
the second pic is bubble algae, valonia i think.

Looks like cyano to me.

It could be from the type of light you're using on your fuge. I always have a little cyano in my sump.

Any in the DT?

Agreed. Especially if the amount of bubbles increase during lights on.

Thanks is it bad to have in my fuge ? No there is none in my DT. Thankfully. My light is on 24 hrs. Should I cut it back ?

I would cut the light back, run it opposite your tank photo period, I would remove the bubble algae, make sure not to break the bubbles or you will have it in your display.

Also when you remove it out of your sump. To help reduce the risk of getting it in your DT. Shut down all pumps in your sump, and siphon it out.
