So ive recently noticed bleaching and dieing sps, so did some testing and found my alk was around 6.7.. does anyone know if the buffer tht comes with the red sea alk test is designed for raising alk? If so how do i determine how much to add...the instructions on the bottle are like reading arabic for me lol. Thanks.

The key to figuring out how much to dose is the concentration at the top.

The concentration is 0.036 meq/L. Which means that 1 ml added to 25 gallons of saltwater will raise the dKH of the water by 0.1. Since your tank is 75 gallons, it would take 3 ml to raise your tanks dKH by 0.1.

Next figure out what level of dKH you want to bring your tank up to. You shouldn't do it faster than 0.5-1 dKH per day imo, so multiple that 3 ml dosage amount by 5 and you get 15 ml.

If you followed the dosing instruction on the label (58 ml) I believe it would raise your dKH by 1.93 (58/3*0.1). If someone else could confirm my math it would be much appreciated... maybe I'm way off?
