Can anyone help me Id this coral??
I say Echinata, could be Favia but to be certain look at the skeletal structure under the flesh, hard to tell from this pic.
Acan perhaps ?!
Please watch this link - very interesting
Circular patterns around the heads with paralleling lines heading into the mouth, Acanthastrea Echinata
I’m also thinkin echinata
I need to get me some acans. Also note if I ordered corals and they came on a frag plug that big I wouldn’t be happy.
Who would be happy with a frag that size.... here's what it looked like when I picked it up last year, Middle frag in pic
Another thing to point out is the comment was regarding those 2”(?) diameter frag pucks instead of just using the regular plugs. Yours to my eyes looks to be on a regular plug and not one of the pucks. To each their own I guess. Didn’t know there was a correlation between frag size and plug size though.
Yah i had a few frags shipped on the larger ones, they had no plug on the bottom they were just a disc and my urchin kept knockin it off of the eggcrate. >< I eventually just glued it to another frag plug so it would stick in the egg crate.
