Auto Fishfeeder Gone Wrong

For the past several months I’ve made use of an automatic fish feeder on my 180 Tropheus tank. Feeding the 1mm NLS pellets 4 times daily (small amount). Tank has 25 Ikola and a couple other tangs I like to keep.
Feeder always getting splashed when the fish go nuts for the dropping food. Also the feeding frenzy often ends with pellets on the floor as well as water.

Today, in the midst of one of the “frenzies”, one of the fish hit the slider that opens the feeder. Looks like it turned about a quarter of a full drum into the tank.
Cleaned the filter socks as well as the extra sponges.
Just finish a 40% WC, added some prime, changed out the carbon.
Have the return pump to the sump cranked up, as well as 3 extra power heads going.
Sounds like Niagara Falls in here now.

Hoping it’s enough.

Plan to do another change tomorrow as well as a few days of lettuce only for the fish.

Any other thoughts?
