Just checking if anyone is using Bio-Pellets besides myself. If so, what is your tank size and what volume are you running. I started mine in the new tank the moment I had water in. Has been 5 weeks now and the changes this week have been stunning. My total volume is 178g and I run 400ml or one bag. The skimmer waste is horrible, but in a enjoyable kind of way.

When I had my big tank I was running 500ml or 2 cups of pellets in a ReefOctopus Biochurn 120-R. It did wonders for my tank. You do need patience for pellets as they do take 4-6 weeks to start showing results. Also be mindful of a cyanobacteria bloom. Typically a chemiclean dose will clear that up though.

My algae bloom was fairly simple to remove film algae, primarily on the glass. Clearly this week they have kicked in as it looks great. I feed the fish heavy and also feed corals 3-4x per week, so I do have a gfo and a carbon reactor ready if needed.

I Ran GFO only after nitrate numbers leveled off where I want them. Once nitrates are where you want them, then start GFO if you have phosphate issues at that point. I only ran carbon if there is a reason to like post chemiclean.
