I was under the impression that DI resin needed to be stored in vacuum packed sealed bags so its not in contact with the air or will be contaminated with CO2? I purchased mine in packages containing only enough to fill the canister and one of the vacuum sealed bags had a small pin hole so I tossed it. But what do I know.... ha ha

technically you arent wrong. But the resin is not destroyed by it. it may take a little longer for you to get clean water initially.
Also even if the resin has been completed exhausted/contaminated, I can regenerate it if needed.

    Short version.

Seperate the two different kinds of resin using air.
Wash the cation in a dilute scid bath.
wash the anion in a dilute caustic bath.
    Rinse till "clean"
Mix it all back together and its ready to back in.
