does anyone have one of these skimmers ? I am trying to dial mine in on the 75 gal and all I am getting is a super wet skim.. there is nothing in the tank yet.. spec's say that the water level should be somewhere between 9.5 - 11." I have raised to 7" and seems to be a dry skim.. is this common on these skimmers...

I have that exact skimmer. I 've found 8" water depth works best. Set the mixture to "2" and let it be for am hour or so. Takes awhile to really get going. I think eric has a good point with the lack of bioload. Never ran mine on a new tank so not sure how they act.

I have one of these as well. Rock solid, quite, and great skim

If new they take few days/week to fully break in. than you will get constant skim out of it. 7-8" depth is best I've found
