I filled up a pouch with carbon, dropped it in the sump and bammmmmm carbon everywherr. No idea how. Is this bad? Its free floating in the sump near pumps n skimmer. Will this eventually hurt my tank or am i ok?

I would try to remove as much as possible, I've read it can cause lateral line disease in yellow tangs but don't know of any other problems. I doubt an isolated instance could be harmful.

Did you rinse the carbon before use? If not thats probably why it happened.
When i rinse I get small chunks that escape the bag its in.

Ya i rinsed it first. What happenes was it floated into the return line from the pump ( its t'ed off back to the sump) and the flow blasted the bag ipen. I scooped out as much as possible but alot got blown into live rock and rubble, settling on the botom everywhere. I just hope it doesnt create long term affects on livestock
