I'll be honest I've never had the clear snot problem. I've read a few threads on RC about people having the same issue, people seam to think it's a bacterial bloom but no one has confirmed it under a microscope. Some people have found that scented candles and glade plug in's (air born hydrocarbon) have contributed to their problem, when they removed them from the house the problem went away

I'm not sure if read slime remover will do it, I don't recall any one trying it in the threads that I have read. IMHO trying to hit it with medication is difficult at best with out knowing if its gram - or + and without damaging the good bacteria which is gram - . It's almost like you have a single strain of bacteria taking over, have you dosed any bacteria in the bottle? have you tried running Fauna Marine bacto reef balls?

I would think that is a bacteria problem. Feeding it carbon dosing is likely making your problem MUCH worse

Excellent point, we posted at the exact same time lol. @shamous113 is probably correct that you are likely heavy stocked on a slime based bacteria that you are feeding through excessive carbon dosing. You could look into other methods of lowering nitrates that perhaps doesnt take the "adding nutrients to the system" approach like a de-nitrator or a biopellet reactor. Good chance if you are pulling that much slime out each day is that your aquarium might be getting oxygen starved because of it. Would keep an eye on the livestock and maybe temporarily add an air stone

I had the same issue at one point. I got rid of the glade air freshener, the kind that sprays every few minutes, and the problem went away.

at about the 2 min mark he talks about it, and in his comments below he states that " Things I did were, airing out the house, dosing Dr. Tim's waste away, siphoning twice a day and just giving it time"

So it’s been forever since I updated this build thread so I figured I would shoot some pictures. The tank is doing excellent now I removed all chemical filtration. Removed bio balls removed lanthanum chloride. Etc. instead I installed a 40 gallon refugium to work along with my algae turf scrubber.
I nitrates have gone down to nearly undetectible. P04 is also at 0. Yet I do believe this is a false reading because my refugeium is still growing like crazy!
SPS and LPS are doing amazing. My sticks awesome growth. For the last months the tank has been doing great. For me what worked what is going be more natural way of getting rid of the chemicals I was using Here are some fresh pics

Stomach is still the same (some had suggested he had pinch belly so I ran two courses of parazapro) but he is back to eating like a pig and looks super healthy. So I wonder if he was just super stressed because of the new fish?

Here are some pics of the system. I use one hose to feed many things. One hose goes to the fuge. That overflows into my ats. Then the ats flows into the frag tank. The the frag tank goes to the sump

Ok so another update. The tank is doing great! Sps have taken off like crazy. I had a fish nipping at some corals but that is solved now and he has been banished to the frag tank. My rr Nauti spiral has grown inches from October. So has my red dragon and confua. I am very pleased with the tank. Man this hobbie has its ups and down does it not!
