I don't remember, it was sorta before I knew anything about the hobby. I'll see if I can find a video for you. I think there was unicorns and nasos. Not 100% sure, but they were huge! There was tons of convicts though, I remember that!

I have not been to Cuba but i have heard it has some of the best snorkeling and scuba in the Caribbean.
I have been to numerous other spots in the Caribbean and went snorkeling in most.
Saw lots of Naso and parrot fish.
I use milk bone dog biscuits or dry cat food ( better ) as "chum" to attract the fish and it is what most people use and recommend.
Have a blast when you are there!

We were there in Varadero in 2002. Snorkeling and diving were cancelled due to a Hurricane on the other end of the island. But snorkeling off the beach, I found a huge anchor from an OLD ship. Just remember all the stories of sunken Spanish ships. Keep your eyes open. Oh yeah the rum is cheap too.
Hope your at an all inclusive. I started at 10 am with the rum. They like tips in U.S. greenbacks, and don't expect the same level of cleanliness as a 5 star hotel in Canada. There everyone, except the hotel staff, live in poverty.

When diving you can look at the coral formations and perhaps see ship outlines with masts, that have become reefs. There are also online, usually treasure hunting, sites where they can identify wrecks and the cargo content debris field. Steel anchors become reefs too, and maintain their distinct shape until toppled or buried. When I was in Veredaro I found an anchor, with chain, that was tipped up by the storm, but apparently they are so common the locals don't care; and it was only a hundred feet or so from shore. Just don't scab anything from a reef, they have different ideas regarding theft and what belong to who and how a jail system works.
Cuba really is just a big sand bar, kind of like P.E.I. When the ocean level rises due to global warming, it will be under water.
