Fish not eating questions

If you fish arent eating there usualy sick or stressed or something right?
I have a clown hes fine im just wondering for The future. So if he is eating he is fine right?
Im just wondering becuase he is kind of actign a little wierd but hes eating. He will swim up to me when i walk in the room and swim verticaly for a few seconds then swim normally then go vertical again. but when i dont pay attention to him he swims of fine and doesnt do it until im near him.
Tips?

try garlic,i soak all my food in it for a bit

I dont know if its an actualy problem or if hes just being silly becuase im around. Ive herd clowns have quite the personality and do funny things. so I was wondering has anyone eles clown done this?

ive had many fish not eat,sooner or later they usually will come around,but like i mentioned,fish love garlic,it stimulates the appitite
