Today I am celebrating the fact that exactly one year ago today my Erectus fry were born! Looking back on my journey with these amazing animals I feel so blessed to have been able to raise 70 beautiful, thriving seahorses from my original batch of over 400 fry.

And some are in between. :)

As a first batch of fry from my young male, I did not expect to be able to raise so many when I first started. To have had this degree of success is truly amazing to me and I still have to pinch myself sometimes to prove it is real. I had read so much about how hard they are to raise and even harder when they are the first batch of fry a male has that I would have counted myself lucky if I managed to raise even one to adulthood. The fact that these little ones are so healthy and are now having their own babies is fabulous. I had a lot of help from the experts on Seahorse.org and for that I am truly grateful. I now feel confident that I can pass on knowledge to others, having lived through this last year.

Here's to celebrate a truly wonderful year,
