if you use headphones for your audio enjoyment, what equipment do you use?

I'm on the hunt for a DAC and amp...separate or combined, I've not decided.

my humble collection entails the following:
HiFiMan HE-350
Stax SRS-2170 (SR-207 & their 252s amp)

currently considering the following:
Meridian Explorer2
Audioquest Dragonfly Red
Schiit stack consisting of their Magni 2 Uber amp and Modi 2 Uber DAC.

Currently enjoying the AKG K7XX. Ran them with a FIIO E10K in the past but now use an SLSM M6. The Magni/Modi combo is hard to beat unless you've got a soft spot for tube amps or something like the grace note in terms of form factor and delivery.

I know it may sound a little new age, but you cant beat a bose blue tooth sound bar/woofer system.

but then again i just crank volbeat and FFDP, so might not be the same thing

can i listen to volbeat on a vintage system and turntable?

:D
No clue what volbeat is. I'm probably dating myself by saying that lol

I still have digital sources hooked into my analog amp. IMHO still sounds better than any of the "newer" digital amps I've ever had. My '70s yamaha sounds better than any of the newer NAD or Yamaha amps I've owned in the past.

Digital uses compression and you lose so much detail and warmth in the sound.

But to each their own.

Volbeat would be okay if they zoned in on a genre and stuck with it.

One song they're pop, another they're sorta rock, another they're christian rock (too often for my tastes), then they go into fusion jazz.
FFDP is meh. Not a lot of range to them, they're also all over the map musically, and the vocals are way too grunge for my tastes.

There's Poseidon's musical tastes in a nutshell :)
