Heater In The Overflow?

I purchased a 15” Eheim heater it’s a bit too long to lay flat in the sump.

I have an over flow in the tank 24” deep would there be an issue putting the heater in the overflow? I can’t see the harm

But there might be ?

If your return pump failed, wouldn't the water in your overflow drain and not refill?

that's where mine is. i just have my drains up higher and the heater is always under water

when the pumps are turned off the water lever in the overflow is still over 18 inches so it covers the heater.

+1, I agree, I like one in they overflow. Like you said as long as its covered.
