I try to go several times a year.
Heading to Calendar Bay for long weekend in Feb.
We do 4 nights on the ice every year.

Other then that I try to go to Shades Mill, Pinehurst, Puslinch....
Fun for the kids for about an hour, depending on the weather.

Conservation does an ice fishing day for families. If anyone is interested in trying they supply everything you need. Have draws for the kids and hot chocolate etc.

Hi Kyle,

Do you go to Rob Hyatt's on Callender Bay? Thinking of trying the ice bungalows this year and I've heard he runs
a good operation there? Would be going mid February as well, but probably during the week.
Use to go to Casey's Huts on Lake Simcoe at Port Bolster....Simcoe ice is still unsafe in some areas and I
would be very cautious going on any of the local GRCA locations just yet...
Any good ice fishing right now means a trip north I think until we get a good stretch of really cold weather.

We use South Shores (I believe is the name).
Group I go with have gone for 15 years or so, me joining for the last 3 after someone dropped out.
Slim picking on pickerel, perch are hit or miss.
But cards, good food (one guy is a chef by trade and brings all pre-made meals), music, and the odd drink all make up for a bad day.

Have not for years.
Used to as a kid with my dad and a group for a day or two a year.
Makes for an expensive day once all considered.
I will go again I'm sure. Waiting for kids to get a little older!

Cold weekend for fishing.
-45 at night. Cold enough that the propane heat was a concern.
Landed quite a few pickerel ( all under slot size in our hut) and enough perch to feed 6 and bring some home.
12in or more of ice under the hut, 28 feet. Lots of cracking and snapping and heaving of the ice.
Oh and cards, beer, rye, and food!
Only 51 weeks till the next trip.
