Im Fusion 40 Build

Finally getting back in to saltwater after around 10 years out. I had a bio cube 14 and 29 before switching to freshwater and trying cichlids and planted tanks for a bit. As I know you're all aware, you can't beat the looks of salt!

I picked up my IM Fusion 40 from Sustainable Marine in London. I highly recommend them as Ian was friendly, honest and extremely helpful.

My plan is to have a soft coral tank and maybe a few LPS later on. As for equipment I'll be running a maxspect razor r420r 130w, an ato (probable tunze osmolator nano), circulation pump (have a mj600 and mover 900 but will probably need something else) and a filter sock in each overflow. I want to keep it as simple as possible.

I'm pretty much new again so any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated. I can't wait to get started! I can't unbox my new baby until the stand is ready!

One step closer! I have my water hooked up and putting out 0ppm. Just waiting on the panels for the stand before I cut wood for the frame.

Question: my waste water line has a valve on it. How should I set it?

I now have the frame of the stand built and the panels cut. I went to the hardware store to see if they had some sort of clip system to mount my door panel. The best they had was the double roller catch latches. Any suggestion on how to mount the door, have a clean look and keep kids out?

Very nice and clean looking stand. I might suggest doing it with magnets. They have some very strong ones at Forest City Surplus. You could countersink them into the panels and into the stand then if you need to remove them you can. The ones I bought were tough for me to get apart once locked onto each other.

After changing plans and having to adjust things 4 or 5 times, the stand is complete now. Just need to install the gfci receptacle then the fun stuff starts!

Looking very nice! I really like the aquascape. Once it clears up it should look awesome.

After I rebuilt the frame of the stand, I couldn't get the rocks to work. I decided to go with something different. Attached are the before and after pics. The tank has finished cycling and now has a pair of ocellaris clowns and a blue leg hermit.
