Lol I did carpentry for a few years. This was easy. My two tier 40x 25' deck with pergola top over a hot tub was a little trickier. Lol. Only finishing touches left on bizzles stand and stain. Lookin forward to finishing it

Re: My 150 gallon build--In progress..

okay so yesterday started draining my 75 and sump into tthe 150 added 200 pounds sand 100 pounds of rock for now, considering im going to slowly drain my 65 gal display into it, now i had already water tested it and wouldnt u know ...i have a pin hole leak that i cant find.  so i drained all the water took all the rock and sand out.  cant take it off the stand yet..to heavy, so im loooking thru the glass and dont see any water pooling anywhere except possibly middle underneath brace looks like it has some so it must be travling but who wants a leaky tank?

any helpful hints?

if i resilicone can i use the aquarium silicone that u can get at homehardware..is it strong enough?

fuck i have no luck...it also seems my elegance has died from my clowns constantly smashing it...

was only guessing from earlier pic of the build, your pic # 51 looks like a smear or repair to me in that location, yes,i can turn it and also lightened it some to try to get a better look

Will the 100% silicone we got from home hardware be strong enough to hold? If we rip off the old silicone inside the tank and re silicone every corner is there a possibility of the glass letting go at the edges?

It def was resiliconed. The guy who did it was extremely sloppy. I'd like to strip all the old out and redo the whole thing. But I've read zomethig about rtv silicone whatever that is, being stronger for larger aquariums.

i have some silicone from miracles, defiantly stronger than the HH variety, got 3 unopened (2 black.1 clear) and 1 opened (clear) that has only a very small amount used. here is what it looks like, maybe you can locate some down that way

i have used the HH silicone to reseal, key is clean.remove the old silicone and don't use anything that will deteriorate the silicone that is holding the glass together like nail polish remover are acetone, use alcohol to clean residue after you razor clean the glass.apply the new silicone and let cure for a week, not taking chances on the 48hrs your will read or hear, the boys at miracles insist they let all their joints cure for 7 days
