should i run a small amount of gfo in the reactor and then slowly increase the amoun in it.
ok what is it, and how do i get rid of it

When I brought my tank back from the brink I used a cup of ROWAphos in the reactor, then went to hi-cap (1 cup) and now use bulk granular (1 cup). Get a hanna checker and an extra pack of reagents. Just monitor your levels. The only way to really know how it's going.
I stick with brown = good, white = bad in my reactor
