Hi All,

Curious whether anyone has any suggestions for removing aquarium glue from an acrylic surface without scratching it up?

Agreed, knowing what 'glue' it is will help. there are several products that people will use on acrylic whether it be silicone or one of the many Weldon products

Tagging @J_T from JT custom acrylics just in case he has some advice or questions.

Remove what you can. I am going to assume you mean silicone. The you will need to buff off the rest. Not an easy task. Depending on the piece, it may be better to buy a new piece, and save yourself some time.

Thanks guys, as the material is rock hard I'm going to say this isn't silicone. I've been able to remove a bit with my fingers but the remaining amount is super tough. It's the panel that separates the display from the sump in my AIO IM40 Fusion so removal isn't an option.

@Canadianeh maybe you can help out with what glue you used here. Thanks

It was Ecotech frag clear liquid glue

If you are removing the glue you need to sand it down or buff it. If it is a hard glue almost like Weldon 16 then that is the only way it will come off. You are not sanding past the glue onto the panel. At this moment I would probably buff the entire tank if I’m doing that anyways as I will have all the supplies
