So I bought 9 gauge wire for a Frame - didn't work out very well.

So I went for something simple.
4 aluminum bars weighing it down On each brace.

Works well for now until I can find something better for a frame.

If I need to access it, it comes off fairly easy and I can just fold the top over like so:

It will keep my fish in until I can find something more permanent. :)

What's wrong with egg crate?  Fits nice and flush with the frame of my tank.  Can't even see it.

it diffuses light, and i dont like the look of it.
i have lots of eggcrate frag racks, so i took my biggest one and put it over the middle of the tank, under the middle mh,
the difference between that section and the outside sections while the eggcrate was on is incredible, crazy shadow/noticeably darker

I use light diffuser about 8" out along the back as the front of my tank is cover with a custom canopy so they can't jump out the back or front ;)

what would it cost for a 3 sections of my bowfront?
each section roughly 2x2, (the ends are 2x18 with the bow obviously

i have a ton of this screen left of so i could easily use that, i just need a frame.
thanks

Well, that is the tricky part. There is no frame :) It is two pieces with the mesh in the middle then glued to make it look like one :) Some tabs on the corners, and there it is :)

Haha ok, but how much for a frame :)

Yea Canadian tire had that stuff too.
But I need to be able to bend it for the front of my bowfront.

I thought about that, you could probably cut the front piece in 2 or 3 pieces and join them with pieces of plastic and get a bend in it or make it offset and glue a piece of plastic to cover the void.

i think if u made a jig on a work bench to bend the aluminum it could be done rather easy. Transfer the bow to some card board or paper and then attach pegs or something to the table to bend around in the shape u coppied, u will have to support both sides to get started and maybe have clamps handy to keep it down on the table,  i bought some aluminum for my top today am surprised by how pliable this stuff seems to be. id suggest do it on a 8' piece and bend a little past what u want to end up with. then cut the lengths u want and continue till ur done  ;) ive bent lots of aluminum channel this way. just take ur time and its not too bad to do. ;)

Hey  Nice Tank!!  ;)  I really should send J_T some more updated pictures though.

I love this lid! and I would suggest it to anyone.  It has held up well .

Bought the lowes kit myself and going to try to use bird netting meant for gardening as it is plastic, black and has larger openings than most screening out there.
