ive had an issue recently that has cost me a 10+ polyp family of Fruit Loops to diminish down to one polyp over a couple weeks. So last night if find two small white stringy little worms that were either wrapped around head and choking the polyp or just bothering it to the point of killing it. What is this and do I need to worry about infestation?

Looks like a nematode worm to me. Some are predators and I assume some species would eat corals. I myself have not seen this but I am sure this has happened to someone. I would check under the coral and take any you see out. Also take the coral out and look for spots where they can hide. I would check at night for any that come out as this is when they most likely will.

Ok thanks for giving me a place to start guys. I pulled two off of the same (now single) zoa polyp. I'll take a look at night and start pulling any of I see them. So small and stringy I almost didn't realize it was a critter. Thanks again.
