Thoughts On Smoothing Out My Heat Distribution

i realize that this is likely what most people have, but i was wondering if there is a few extra lines of code i can add to my apex to help smooth out the temperature swings?

My heater code is basic and exactly the same for both heaters ( i have two heaters setup). Would it be better to alternate them? today I did lower the max down from 80 to 79.5 to smooth it out a bit.

I would add a Min on time, to eliminate rapid on/off of the outlet. Do a google for adding "hysteresis" to apex code.
