Tree Sponge Questions

I’ve been fighting the idea of getting a red tree sponge from a shop but I’m worried about the care. Has anyone had any that they have grown and not just kept? I see that it says expert care and good water quality. Is that mainly because you need to feed them and protect from air? I feed my tank reef roids, reef chilli, phytogold-m and hyperhoral daily(not all of them each day, I mix it up)and I’m assuming that would take care of the feeding part. What else do I need to watch for or do to care for and make thrive. Also what is the growth rate typically?
