Vortech mp10 keeps powering off. I have to remove power from control module and plug it back in to get power, but that only lasts a few minutes before powering off again. It is connected through WXM module on Apex but I don’t think that’s the problem.
Anybody know a fix I can try or is the module burnt out?
I have a spare mp40, could I use that controller to run MP10?

Used these units for many years and I never had an issue
I would contact their customer support team directly - they are very responsive

Are the lights on the module flashing? When I had problems with the ones I used to have the lights would flash indicating a diagnostic trouble code.

I just tried powering up again to be sure, but there is no flashing at any point before loss of power again.

It is probably a bad power pack. It would shut off to protect the driver itself. You should be able to find a replacement. Is it getting really hot before shutting off? Before you buy a replacement do you have another that you can test on the driver? If it still does it you know it is the driver and if not it is the power source itself.

Thanks Kman, it indeed appears to be the power pack. There was an obvious short in one of the prongs where power cable joins the power pack. I switched it with the power pack for the mp40 and it looks like it is back online. I will need a new power pack when I start using the mp40 in the future.

Thanks for all replies, I’ll watch it tonight to ensure it’s running smoothly.

Nope, fail. It is continuing to power itself off. Dammit. I'll contact customer support at Ecotech.

They will probably ask you do try a hard reset...may as well give it a go.

YES TORX, I think the change out of the power pack along with the hard reset has done it. Been watching it for only 15mins since reset but usually it would power off in less than 2 mins.
