I just tiled my kitchen with natural stone travertine, is this stuff reef safe to make some frag discs out of ? I also have a few older ceramic tiles I could use.. are they safe? I've seen a few people using tiles but just wondering if theres something special I should get

I think travertine is fine, it comes in grey and white. I'm pretty sure ones safer then the other, Darryl uses some sort of tile, so I'm sure he will chime in.

tavertine is unfinished and filled marble.  As long as it is pretty white (less other minerals and metals) and hasnt been filled and glossed than it should be fine.  Marble is calcium carbonate from my understanding.

Plain tavertine from homedepot.  You can probably get it from any place that carries tile.  At homedepot it comes in 4x4.and 6x4.  Remember to get the white ones.

Another tip is i use my dimond hole saws to cut frag discs of different sizes.
