Adding more water volume

hey folks ive got a couple questions , recently ive added 3 15g tanks onto my existing established system of about 75g  , I have yet to actually fill them up and run them in the system but they r all plumbed in , is adding 30 g to an existing 75 to much ?  I had to add another sump/refuge to handle all the water bc the main sump I have running now would overflow . So to make it clear there will be one tank added to the system thats 15g for a pair of clowns then another 15g used for a sump to handle water incase power outage . So again your opinoins on adding 30 gal to the 75 . All opinoins all appreciated thanks much

Are you also adding more rock for filtration, etc?  Are you adding a larger pump to handle the water flow or is your existing pump large enough already?  IMO you can never overdo it with adding water.  The more there is, the more stable the parameters.  Also, with adding to the same system, if the new rock is clean and dry you won't have to cycle it and the tanks will all be good to go immediately!

i did the same kinda thing as you with my 75 gallon display. Only difference is I added 2 40 gallons and a 50 you have nothing to worry about. Just when you bring the othere tanks online with the new water, low flow at first, you want to mix it slowely.

the sump that i have running now is overflowing with LR and my frag tank has quite a bit in there also that i want out just frags in the frag tank lol , the tanks that are being added are for pairs of clowns that will have a clay pot to host or a little rock of xenia but there will be the littltest amount of anytihng in those tanks  . the new sump that is being added will have cheato and a little bit of rock . the pump i have no is a mag 18 which is more then enough for my frag tank , I had my reactor plumbed into with pellets but have since removed the pellets from the system and no longer need to run the reactor from it , so the return will be re-plumbed only to feed the 3 tanks it will be running Fragtank ,and 2 15g but only 1 15 gallon will be put on the system at a time until i have pairs to fill them , the 3rd 15gallon is the sump I mentioned I was adding in . Great, this whole thread has me thinking about adding more tanks to my frag tank set up. My wife is going to kill me.  :?

Pretty much the way I have done this entire hobby lol. I have two 20 gal, one 10 gal and one 30 gal outside just sitting there. Time to bring em in and clean em up. Free projects are always nice. Once I have some extra $$$ I will finish off my pico.
