Adjusting Ph

I am looking for a good way to bring my pH from around 7.8 to 6.8 any suggestions.
If I am adding an acid like muratic acid is there a chart or rool of thumb for how much to add to adjust for a certain amount of water?

It's a little off topic but it's for a trout set up I am working on I'm fighting my ammonia.

So still don't understand why they'd be better on the side of acidic? But vinegar is how I lower my ph in salt water, could use same in fresh, just go slowly, depending on water volume try a 1/2 cup a day. Or talk to one of the many trout farms in your area for some help, I'm sure the Elmira fish supply place might have some advise as well. Excess ammonia, means two things, over feeding, or not enough waste removal.

peat, the stuff used in aquariums and almond leaves. used both. also black water extract. pricey on a larger setup. all the stuff is used for dwarf cichlids or discus. just look into them and see what those breeders are using

With a trout set up. Miriatic acid will be the most cost effective.
Go slow with dosing.

Adjusting PH lower with high ammonia will reduce the toxicity of the ammonia until you're able to control it.

What size tank/bin are you housing the trout in? What temp as well? Temperature will play a big part in how much waste is being produced by trout.
