Well I was 99.9% aiptasia free I thought, but no, they were just hiding where I couldn't see.

I dropped some nudis in there last year, they were phenomenal, wiped out everything (I thought) except for one near the output of the wavemaker. I thought I got it with paste, but it just came out in a hidden area, and spawned a bunch of babies, which grew up inside some sps. Didn't notice until the colonies showed some signs of stn, which is weird as three different colonies had it happen at the same time, but that's another story.

Pulled the rock, rinsed it in fresh cold water (holy hell I have a LOT of small brittle starfish, must have been 50 that came out of a baseball sized rock!!!). Now the aiptasia rock is out freezing solid. I'm going to bring it in tomorrow, rinse it in fresh then salt water, and pop it back into the tank. It will be interesting to see if the aiptasia survive that. If so, I'll be hunting for some aiptasia-eating nudis again, as they really really work (but the poor things starve to death when your aiptasia is gone!).

It will be intersting. I know muriatic acid and freezing won't kill green palys, but we'll see about aiptasia.
