Algae Turf Scrubber?

I have been thinking about adding a algae turf scrubber to my new system who else here runs one successfully? And have you seen a safe way to DIY one? All that I have seen look like electrical fires waiting to happen LOL

check through my tank thread..... i posted an acrylic one i made myself but will be a few ages back. if needed ill take some pics for ya but is hard because its kinda dirty.... as for successful i have to turn mine off for 5 days a week just to get nitrates to register lol ;)

depending how your sump is setup i know of three different styles i have recommended for others that work well without being a death trap. So post a sump pic too :)

@Cliff dude you got it made.... a peice of plastic knitting mesh with a couple suction cups. if you add that to the centre part just below those holes the water is draining all you gotta do is shine a light on it and block the light on the back side. or rig a spillway there. ill post a few pics tonight... guess im gonna have to do a algae scrubber build thread lol

Hahaha ya theres lots of people that want them.... i might offer a standard size and then pass the blue prints over to jt the acrylic master. Waiting for me could be a while lol got alot going on taking care of my dad. Already have a couple i gotta finish.
