I have a ton of these in my tank.  About 5mm long.  Half purple, half white.

I've never seen any pics of this type before.  I think they're kind of cool so I thought I'd share.
So far they are behaving themselves.

Sorry for the crappy pics:

You can see the eyes on this one:

I think its the males that have two tails:

There's about a dozen in this pic:

They swim all over the place at night.  Fast little buggers too.

Where did you read they were isopods? Do you have a link, interested in reading. I'm not sure there isopods, I couldn't find any pic identifying them half purple.

Thanks, Everyone has pods, I've just never seen them purple like that. Cool pics. There's quite a few different types of them.

I've never seen any that are half purple. Very cool!

On a side note: If you search Google for "Isopods" there are a lot of cool pics. Including this one...

I also didn't realize that "potato bugs" are in the same family as the isopods in our aquariums.

They are definitely isopods.  They are segmented exactly like the link I posted, hard bodied, and have legs.

nothing that eats any bugs...  I have an amphipod overpopulation too.

I have 2 tangs, 2 clowns, a coral beauty, and a yellow tailed damsel..

They don't pair, you'll just have a female and a male that fight and I'd bet they wont eat those either, way way to big for a mandarin, they like the little bugs you can't see Best imo
