I made my own paste out of pickling lime, works great but my tank was already too far gone (they are in overflows, pipework, you name it). You have to get them early and small, and totally obliterate the area with the paste. Good for getting rid of pretty much anything else too (except gsp which will never ever die).

I tried with larger quantities at once and it didn't work as well. It's 100% identical to aiptasia-x and YES it kill sunset monti. Lol. I use it as a barricade for montis, meteor shower, red planet etc. It is fairly permanent if not in a water stream. Pretty much harmless to the tank otherwise (just alkalinity paste).

I picked up a couple peppermint shrimp for the Coral Reef Shop. Red will prove they eat aptasia, I've saw him do it on several occasions. I have them in the tank and there hasn't been an aptasia in the tank in a year. The Molly
Miller blenny is suppose to eat em

Heather berghia nudis are suppose to do a damn good job removing them.... also try lemon juice injected into the aptasia... suppose to do wonders as well but never tried it.... only had one out break and my peppermint shrimp took care of it.

I really like to use a paste made of Kalkwasser and ro , use a dropper to cover the aptasia and it burns them away. This way you are dosing something your tank needs anyway. It will kill any coral that it happens to fall on so be careful. This is much the same as @Salty Cracker solution. This is also a very cheap way to deal with them . Good luck.

When I first started in reefing I had hundreds of them, not knowing at the time what they were. After doing some reading I got a Klein's Butterfly and he mowed them all down in a matter of days. The unfortunate part was once they were gone he then started pecking at my bta so back to the fs store he went. It was too bad because it was a beautiful fish. Since then Aiptasia X has worked for me when i've needed it. I don't think it has caused any outbreaks although like others I do have a pep that takes care of most of it. I really like the Kalk paste idea. Good luck!
