Aquasafe Rodi Arrived!

Just got my Aquasafe Aquarium 2, 7 stage ro/di. The included tds meter gave my tap water a reading of 434. For the people using tap water in their systems (i know there's at least a few out there!), any idea what your tds is?

Wow, 434 is high, or at least my tap water is only around 120. Pretty sure we are just really low here as I have heard higher numbers in the past.

No tds meter here but if I use the one in my system it limits out at 99

Can't beat the price, given there are 7 stage units out there costing twice as much. Takes my water tds from 434ppm down to 0ppm if the included tds meter is accurate

Brantford Water is some of the worst municipal water in Ontario. Its horrible. Smart move with the RODI system.

That doesn't surprise me at all! That said, now that I'm stripping everything out of the water, will my water changes (using Instant Ocean salt) replenish all trace elements and/or minerals? Kind of a loaded question, but gotta start somewhere!

only replaces for the mix water your adding you need additives to help with depletion..... and 100% water change isnot possible so guess your dosing now lol

That is exactly what I was wondering. Wasn't sure if I was taking out anything important along with the "crap".

Aquasafe also has great deals on there prefilters. I went with the same RO/DI unit as you but bought an inline TDS meter. I also got the handheld one for free and I get the same reading from the handheld as I do with my inline TDS meter. I have been happy with my RO/DI unit and I have now had it well over a year.

Brantford water ! Back to the days of fish shows. People who forgot to bring their own water from home usually had dead fish immediately if they added Brantford water.
Bad stuff that !
