Biocube Fuge Question

Has anyone with a Biocube put a hermit crab or snail in your refugium compartment? I cut a peice of filter pad and put it where the sponge would go between chamber 2-3 to keep detritus and cheato from reaching chamber 3 and clogging the return pump. I think this would help keep the snail or crab from getting into there as well, if I even need to worry about that. Any thoughts?

Any predators in a fuge defeats the purpose of the fuge. It's call a refugium because it's supposed to be a refuge for Micro organizims to grow and populate

I want to keep hermits out of the display.... Snail killers!
