Biotope System Do You Have One?

Do you try to keep your system with fish, corals and rocks from the same region? Or is it more of a free for all? Just mix fish, corals everything with no thought on origins?

Also has anyone kept a species only tank? If so why did you and if not why not?

after our trip to Hawaii last year I really wanted to build Hawaiian reef tank but I dont have enough experience or know how to make it happen yet.

and he wont fit

ive got a free for all reef theres too many nice colours from different regions to stick to one but keep same regions together and apart from different ones for the most part as they dont always play nice. I do have a species only tank for my seahorses... reason being they are true tank bred and i dont want to expose them to the disease and pests from the wild. also started rock from dry.
