Are they hosting anything neo ? The occellaris get aggressive when they have a reason to be . Were you near there hosting spot or does the female look bigger then normal ? She could be starting a process of eggs which is why she's aggressive , out of all the clowns I've owned and own that's are not maroons are not aggressive at all they all eat from my hand cept the maroon .
Ya they host a large seashell. The both actually fight deep in side and you would think the tank is empty. It a 14 gallon cube so anywhere is close to the shell. First time she has ever nipped me. Definitely the larger of the two.
i was carrying a 180gallon, 5/8" glass tank, down the stairs... with ONE friend... i was on the bottom.. had all the weight and the pressure of it cut my hands and my stomach where it was pushing against, pretty deep...
note to self: get more/stronger friends next time :?
black long spine urchin.,, twice! frogspawn or hammer left rash on inside of my forearm 2in x 8in.,., lots of fireworm bristles., lots of clownfish bites,.,., salt in my eye,., hit my head while working on my sump all the time,., jab those worm caseing in my finger when picking up lr all the time........
i had a moray eel a few years back that nailed me pretty good he was roughly 20" they have sum serious teeth, my fault though tried hand feeding him he was a bit too eager lol
domino damsel has been the only thing to really piss me off in the tank, I can't think of anything else that has ever bothered me..including the breeding clownfish when I moved their egg-covered coral 2 days ago...
I injured myself last week when trying to clean my seahorse tank. I was picking the seahorses out of the tank to put into a small tank while I renovated and stepped sideways off the third step of the ladder I was on and crashed sideways to the floor! My poor seahorse bounced out of my hand and ended up on the carpet covered in dog fur! The look in her eyes was so bewildered. She luckily survived the ordeal with no side effects but I am still having quite a bit of pain in my shoulder and I'm beginning to question a torn rotator cuff. Not my best moment
I am now looking for a tank that is easier to clean and not 30" deep like mine is.
My fish bite me everytime I put my hand in my tank...They think I'm food! F'ing Purple tang will bite and hold on and try to shake to rip a piece!
Best one I've seen is at a LFS while trying to get me some snails and crabs the lady getting them stuck her hand right against an urchin! Her hand started to swell immediately and she was squeezing out the venom(?) and clearly in pain! I kept asking dumb questions like " does it hurt?" " How bad?" " Does it still hurt?" This clear liquid was oozing out...She was also not in a very good mood anymore. She started cursing her job!!!! I felt bad leaving with my 12 snails and 12 hermit crabs while she was still in pain! She hated me everytime I went in from then on...
