If you love clams than you should probably know blue squamosa is quite rare.  I only have seen them for sale online in the states once in a while.  Never seeing one for sale in person.  The specimen was usually a larger wild imported one and the price was high......600-800.  Well I really have to hand it to Bill at IA.  He has managed to be a head of the heard and scored some newly farmed blue squamosa's.  Aparently they are being farmed now which has dropped the price but they are still going for $300 - $400 per clam in the USA right now.  http://theblueglow.com/shop/Blue-Squamosa-Clam-2.html  When you get the same stuff from the same farm from at Bills local for less than half the price.  http://www.incredibleaquarium.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31_44_271&products_id=2576

Here is an article on when these first became seen in the US.  http://reefbuilders.com/2012/06/13/blue-squamosa-clam-2/

and finially a pic of the one I bought today

It's beautiful!  I saw those when I went to see Bill last week and the colors are amazing.
to tell you the truth the ultra maxima's Bill has have better colour but a maxima isn't as cool as a squamosa.  Squamosa clams grow much faster and larger and also open up their mantle wider than maxima's.  Add the fact that these are rare blue squamosa's and I couldnt resist.
