I went to BA boxing day not only to stock up on salt but to get a few other things. I spent 200 bucks but what a disappointment. 75 percent off of what? What crap!!!. The Reef Salt was all gone, sure maybe I saved a bit but come on, atleast put a limit on the salt, Some people had bought 20 pails I was told.  I went to the Kitchener store. They should put a limit on the pails to 5 or 6 . all I wanted was 3 . Big Disappointment. AW

I went and wanted to buy 10. They only had 3. Although they said I could pay for all 10 and they would bring in the other 7 later. I did that, they called and said it was in the next day. (Although I haven't had a chance to drive from Sarnia to London to pick up yet.) Really though, they aren't $35/pail. They are $40/pail and tax. There is a $5 mail in rebate, but you can only use 1 receipt on up to 2 buckets.

Did you see anything that was 75 percent off? What a racket.  The guy at the store said they might have more salt next week but it would be the normal price and I thought WTF are you on ludes.

Sounds like you had a one off their Jewel and no idea who you were talking to as everyone I spoke with on the phone and there knew that you could order salt at the discounted cost. I got great deals on the anthias at 20% off and snails at 50% off and they were marked as such. As well, if they are out of salt, then they could have ordered you some at the discounted price of $35 for IO RC if you paid while there, which is a HUGE discount when you are buying 6 buckets. At least $200 in savings right there. IIRC there was a limit of 6 per customer, however, some people go with their spouse and family and each get 6, there is no way of BA to know who is with who. Also most of London and surrounding area goes there boxing day to get salt, it sells out quickly, I think they only had 40 buckets of regular IO left at 1pm, no idea how many they got in of IO RC or IO. Pretty much everything in the store was discounted, I was not looking at prices though, I was looking at the stock and afterwards for the prices and a bonus of a discount afterwards.

The guy worked there, Ya I should of called. I was looking for snails awhile back and I called ahead, When I got there they had nothing but tiny Nazzarious snails, So now what do you have to do call and talk to the Salt water expert at BA. I guess I should of went to the London store, They probably would of been more helpful,

Oh, I thought you had the issue with the London store. I was reading your OP as you went to London, had issues, so you then went to Kitchener.

London had tanks over flowing with nass, turbos and another type of snails. Sorry to hear about Kitchener store, I have no idea what they do as I have never been there nor know anyone there.

The Kitchener BA only brings in a few buckets of salt to satisfy the first few people, they make almost no profit from the salt at this price and would rather you come in and look around then buy a bunch of salt. It was all gone by 8:30am from what I heard (opens at 8 ), Aquariums by design had the salt on sale before boxing day for the sale price but without the mail in rebate ($30). It seems London BA will bring in a whole bunch and even let you order more if they run out, I was only able to grab 3 buckets of IO from ABD, wanted IORC but didn't want to make the trip to London on boxing day. To be honest it was my first boxing day buying bulk salt so now I know better for next year.

I wasn't knocking the BA in London, But if I were, were you trying to defend them, Shades of AP and AJ, mmmm  As it turned out you shouldn't assume anything.
