Is it me or has the brokerage and shipping costs to Canada at BRS gone up substantially in the last little while?  Before it would be around $30 on my orders, but now it is upwards of $50.

Maybe a Canadian "preferred reefer" is turning into a "preferred sucker".  I have $2 worth of BRS points to redeem, maybe that will get my shipment to the city limits of wherever in Minnesota they are located.  :p

Also depends on what you buy. I didnt notice an increase on my last order.

I was just trying to get 2 gallons each of Alk and Ca and some DI resin... maybe the weight causes an issue.  Cost is def higher than it was before though.

I just punched in 1 glue and 2 sticks of epoxy and they want $20 shipping.  That's a too much.  I guess BRS is off the 'preferred purchasing' list.

Thank goodness for Bean Bag Frags!

(hey jerry I need some epoxy and a tub of glue)  ;)

I have lots of glue in stock and putty on the way. I would be all over bulk additives but I'm not sure on the mixing instructions compared to BRS's

I'm guessing it is not so much the shipping but more so the brokerage.

My wife left her kindle on a domestic flight recently, the airline was American however... they shipped it when they found it from Texas and a slip with a $28 brokerage fee was at the door.  Long story short, customs thought it was new kindle and in the end she didn't have to pay.  But it was a pretty small package and the brokerage was $28.

BRS charges a flat 15% for brokerage....that cost includes the taxes you would normally have to pay.  At least that is the way it used to be.

Im looking for the best deal on DI resin locally right now myself cause making an order to brs for just a few things is too costly on shipping.

Well maybe shipping has gone up then and brokerage is the same.  Either way, seems costs collectively for shipping/brokerage are definitely higher than they used to be.

My cart for 2 gallons each of Alk and Ca, and 2 small refills of DI resin, is as follows:

$90.84 sub total
$52.16 shipping
$13.63 taxes

$156.63 total   42% of the cost is shipping/taxes.

Look at the weight of the 2 gallons of alk. No doubt that the brokerage fees have gone up, but you also have to remember the weight of things

I agree with petercar. I had my order shipped to the ferry for free, will pay the ferry $5 and likely the border guard wont charge me tax. Before I ordered i checked and brokeage + taxes to ship to canada was $105.
