It seems like anywhere that sells saltwater fish, usually stock damsels.. striped ones, blue ones, even domino ones!!

I can't make any recommendation, but it seems most LFS carry them! As you probably know, they get aggressive and are as hardy as nails! These things will live forever and are easier to put in your tank than take out!!

Good luck,

T

I second that notion. Green chromis' are just as hardy and not aggressive... Excellent first fish. Blue damsels will become extremely territorial when u intro new fish. Crazybizzle knows from experienceZ had a hell of a time catching his... Could always throw in a lion fish lol to eat em if ya can't catch em tho lol

Been reading the same story everywhere bout damsels being the best first fish but also very aggressive. I like your idea bout the chromis. Definetly have to research that on web.  Been to Corbets in the past, like looking there, never bought there tho. They do have a large selection to look at. Haven't been there for a couple years now so not sure what they like now...

You can put in as many Chromis as you want they are pretty cool when they swim in a group, but with your size tank I'd go for no more then 2 buddy. You should get a Clown fish to, great fish and everyone loves a Nemo right lol. Everyone knocks Damsels but just like every animal it differs with every fish, I think anyways lol. I have two chromis', a clown fish, Yellow tail damsel and a blue damsel all in a 50 and they are all fine. They chase one another but its all harmless. the meanest fish I have is a lawnmower blenny and guess what, suppose to be friendly lol... and a coral beauty who also can have an attitude :)
My clown fish attacks me when I put my hand in the tank but he's great with the other fishes haha.
Anyways with this hobby I think its all about experiences, put whatever fish you like in your tank... chances are they will be fine, but you may have that one that just has a bad attitude, they are living animals after all. (And I dont mean to put Triggers in with damsels lol).
what's more important then what fish you put in your tank is the way you put them in. Always follow a good acclimation procedure when putting your fish in the tank, the drip method is the easiest on them, but any method that provides them oxygen and acclimates them over a period of time long enough to safely adjust to their new home is good.
Cheers!

I would first make sure that paramaters are good and ready for fish.  Then, decide which fish you really want.  I wouldn't get damsels or chromis just because they are a good starter fish - think about your final vision - if you want a clown and a firefish, then get the tank in order and start with those.  I loved my school of yellow tails in my last tank.  Now my school is pj cardinals, and I like them too.

Or you could do like me and look for pretty colors on sale....some visionary here.

Not sure of the selection there, but I guess that Sam's Pampered Pets has salt again in Belle River - might be closer to you.  I am not fond of Corbrets - good selection, but price and condition is another thing.  MFA is great.  Probably more stores for you in London to choose from though.

thanks pulpfiction but I think I will go with the clowns. I was actually just tallking to Rick about this earlier. I thought you needed anemone for clowns but he said no, and also didn't know they are also a good first fish. Wanted clowns before and think my kids would also love the "Nemo" fish.
