Do I Need Styrofoam Under Tank?

Before I get to the point of no return I thought I better ask if anyone puts anything between their tank (with black plastic trim) and a steel stand?
I think I read somewhere on this forum that it was not recommended but wanted some certainty before I start measuring things up.

There was a discussion just a couple of days ago about the pro's and con's of using Styrofoam. It is a subject to debate..

That's what I am seeing as well. I'd sooner not but always have used foam for large tanks. Maybe I need to examine the stand top one more time for levelness and high points and just go with it.

how big is this tank I have it under my 200 and my 180 refugium no way I wanna come home to a wet floor cause I skipped the foam I did it on my cause I'm not taking chances ask scubasteve how great it feels to split a tank personally I would

If it's on a concrete floor then absolutely use foam to allow air flow under the sump. Concrete has a ph of 9 and will erode plastic - also using foam will insure equal weight dist abutilon

Concrete floor, vinyl floor, 2 inch square tube stand.
180g Miracle tank , dual corner overflows, with a sump system.
I better stop talking as it's going to be freshwater (shhhh don't tell anyone on this forum)

That's funny, cause miracles came out to a buddy of mines to replace a tank under warranty, did a full set up and didn't use styrofoam iirc.
Would have to check with Phil to find out for sure.
