guys im looking for some advice for a drain on my frag tank...
would it be smart just silicone a piece of glass across one end, and have that as an overflow ( with the drain just set low on the other side,
or to use up as little space as possible, just do a stand alone pipe drain... and if thats an option, how would i go about doing that?
thanks!

If you just to a straight pipe for your overflow, then things other then water will go down it. You need something to block that without risking blocking the flow. I am not the expert at overflows, but am sure that if you post pics of your potential frag tank and dimensions, then people here will give you a great design.

You should be able to get acrylic at any glass store, pretty sure that homehardware and other stores like it will have it as well.

blob, that would be awesome

can u drill a hole in glass???
part of this system im building includes a holding tank for large frag colonys that i purchase etc....
i had a 20gal all lined up until it cracked yesterday :(
i have a 30gal, with the same base that i can use, it just needs to be drilled once for a drain line...
would be willing to pay...

if not, ill just ask barry to do it...
he drilled the 2 holes in my frag tank..

but i think what ill do is buy 2 pieces of acrylic and make an overflow... it cant be all that hard, and it wont take up much space...

All my overflow consists of is a elbow  pointing up screwed into my bulkhead, I have cut egg crate to make it fit slugly inside the elbow.

ive seen on youtube, that a guy ran a piece of pvc pipe, horiztonally along the water line, with a slit in it.... it seemed to work well

That was my original plan brandon, but after I saw reeffreaks, I was set on just using the elbow. He does however have a overflow box infront of his, but he is just fancy pancy.
