Euro Brace Question

my new cube has euro bracing around the top. It looks like it had came off and been hastily reapplied. My question is do I really need it? Why or why now. Never had a rimless tank befor or had euro bracing so I need some advice.
Cheers

The bracing is there for a purpose, in the past I've seen them siliconed on, it probably popped off. I wouldn't run the tank without it, in case of expansion, water pressure? Just mho;)

It does what the black top on most glass boxes does. Allows the use of thinner glass to keep cost and weight down but it keeps the tank from bowing out and exploding open under the pressure of water.

My guess is that it was pulled off possibly or part was. It's star fire glass and the same thickness as the tank itself so I'd say it was added while it was built. I'm glad to hear everything is doing well there and you now a a jawfish not a goby. Haha.
