which shrimp would be the best bet to have clean my fish? I have a blood shrimp right now, and when my fish "present" themselves to him, he just sort of ignores them.

Thanks

Blood shrimp are really only good for cleaning larger fish and that mostly happens in the wild. They don't normally clean smaller ones in captivity. At least I have not seen them over the years as none of mine have. But I am sure from time to time they might.

The Lysmata wurdemanni complex (pepermint shrimp) sometimes cleans but not often. The common cleaner shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) sometimes called scarlet skunk cleaner is your best bet. Keep in mine that some shrimp needs the rock work to look like a cleaning station for them to clean. I would take a look at picture in the wild to see what they look like. Some shrimp like open space with a rock protruding into the water column that they stand on offering the cleaning service. Others like a cave that is big enough for the fish to come to and display itself and that gives the shrimp the option to accept or decline. With shrimp if they are well fed it will lower the cleaning action in captivity.

I keep cleaner, blood and peppermint shrimp. What ever happened behind the rock stay behind the rock lol.

I assume giving enough room they should be ok, all my shrimp are doing well

My blood shrimp went missing a month ago and my pistol shrimp now looks bigger... I have gone months before without seeing 1 and then they somehow re appear.... I doubt that's the case this time:(

Tanks doing great, Torx was over this afternoon helping me (he did everything)with my apex. All the inhabitants seem to enjoy the new tank better. Cabinet is basically done. Light bracket is finished. Now to fill it with some more coral.
