hey guys , have some sad news , the other day one of my oldest fish and favourite fish passed away , it was a really rough experience, I’ve lost fish before but not this way ,

So he was a yellow wrasse , had from a baby all the way to full grown , I’ve always had a glass lid but 4-7 times he’s jumped out of the tank and thank god no longer then 40 min once and I’ve always saved him and brought back to healthy self ,

Ok so please pay attention my wrasse didn’t die a normal death from what I’ve learned if a fish jumps and hits the glass it’s ok , but what can happen over time is damage to the head and the spine which ultimately lead to seizures, and I watched him have 1 and died within 10 seconds,

Point to this story is for everyone who has a lid with a jumper , and your fish jumps time to time please reconsider a mesh lid .. you’ll thank me later :(

So sorry for your loss.

I switched to mesh tops this year. Glad I did it now after hearing this story.
