freshwater bath for saltwater fish

Was recommended to give my fish a fresh water bath to cure him of any flukes. Has anyone else ever done this? Did it work? Seems like it may by my only option now

Yes I have done , doesn't feel right when you do but yes it may work, I've done it more with Corals.

My false perc had odd white things on it - not ich.  A 15 minute freshwater dip cleared it right up.  He acted pretty drunk when I put him back though.
It's not for the weak of heart.

Yes. I had a niger trigger infested with flukes. They were even crawling on his eye balls.

I matched the PH of the freshwater and made sure it was highly aerated with an air-stone and powerhead and it worked perfectly!

Some one said 15 minutes but that sounds excessive, 5 min. is how long I did it for, Just make sure the water is the same temp and not sure about PH but it sounds right.

I do a ten minute dip on any fish with the problem. We do need to do it from time to time on fish that are shipped in.  Blue ring angels seem especially susceptible.

10 minutes in generally long enough. The biggest thing is to match ph and temperature.
