Frozen fish food in freezer... How long does it last, and is it harmful to fish in any way if freezer burnt?

Re: Question of the Day- July 7

i myself have wondered about this,i have read that frozen foods can lack some nutrients due to being frozen, not sure if this is true or not,but i would agree with what i have read that freezer burnt or re-frozen food could loose nutrients and you would see the results in coloration that might not be as vibrant

I heard that it lacks nutrition also, this is y they come out with the food in a bottle :) I been feeding my tank reef nutrition aswell. I like this stuff WAY better. And the question is it bad if its frezzer burnt,n would u eat a frezzer burnt steak? Cuz I no I wouldn't, so I def wouldn't be feeding my tnk frezzer burnt food also.

Re: Question of the Day- July 7

I think frozen fish food would be good in the freezer for approximately 3 months before it starts to go off.  Similar to meat in the freezer.  As for the Freezer burnt food, I agree with the others that it would not be good - unless it becomes like freeze dried food that they sell in the stores for turtles etc.  But in my mind not for feeding fish.

Just because sometihng is freezer burnt doesnt mean its garbage ... it all depends on how well the meat or food is frozen .. if you vacum seal your meat it will last years not months .. I vacum seal my trout roe and it last up to 5 yrs frozen sealed

Just referring to the " would you eat freezer burnt steak , cause i know I wouldnt " remark , they didnt say garbage your right , good eye  ;) but if no ones going to eat it then wheres it going to go lol , personally ive had a thing of brine shrimp for like 6 months nothing wrong with it , huge package full feed it every other day and see no issues . I agree that re-frozen food is not good as it does loose the color  which means its probably losing alot of nutrients .
